Pendulum Animation

Image
I will be choosing the Minecraft swing design for my final animation because I think a swing portrays the pendulum swinging motion very well. It also is incorporating a game that I enjoy playing so I think it will be really fun experience for me to do this project. For this design, I will start out by importing an existing world with a swing that I built in game for the setting of the scene. Then, I will adjust the time of day and lighting to make it more appealing. For the principles of design, I will use informal balance for the background and some vertical lines to emphasize the height of the object.

Respond- Animation Shorts

In the short film "Spellbound," the animator uses informal balance for the picture frames at the start of the video to give the viewers a visual feeling of weight. It is asymmetrical but not overwhelmingly scattered, giving the audience a sense of comfort. In the clip after, the animator uses a dolly across camera movement to present the pictures and trophies on the girl's table. This gives the audience a feeling of excitement that something with action is about to happen. Later on, the artist shows an over the shoulder camera angle with Sally waving to her sister. In the short film "The Small Shoemaker," the animator uses vertical lines for the buildings in front of the shop. This principle of design is used to emphasize the height of the buildings. The animator also uses the medium shot camera angle when the worker is dusting the shoes. This is to emphasize the...

Camera Movements

What is the effect the movements have on the viewer? Moving a camera helps emphasize emotions in a scene. There is a feeling of falling into the character's world or being dropped into the scene.  Crane Up: When the camera moves from a shot of an actor into a wide vista shot on a crane, it gives us a feeling of how small the character is or how large the obstacle that he or she is on. Crane High to Low Angle: When the camera moves from a very high shot to a very low shot, this makes the character look strong and imposing, creating a lot of fear. It gives us a sense of authority.   Handheld Camera: Handheld camera movement can create a feeling of uneasiness or danger. It needs to be a bit shaky and unsettling, making us feel strange. Quick Pan: A quick pan can change the ...

This unit I learned how to use keyframes in blender and animate objects. I also learned different types of curves on a graph and how it eases the animated object.
